The Biz Tech Expo

Update: Stellar Enterprise will Be Back For Biz Tech Expo 2008

Did you all know that Stellar Enterprise will be back for the Biz Tech Expo 2008. Michael E. Parker plans to give businesses access to $18,000 in Stellar Professional Services for FREE.

Last year was a trying year for the CEO. His companies endured the a grueling economy within California real estate, suffered a big loss during the credit crunch in the retail industry, and suffered the loss of critical team members due to cultural changes within his companies. Nevertheless, during all this he managed to change the face of business through his business philosophy called "Value-Centered Management".

Also, Michael E. Parker wrote a book titled "Who Said So?" The Questions Revolutionary Businesses Ask That Make Them Successful, a business story that will transform the way you serve all your clients and accounts. His success lead him to be a featured panelist on Fox Business News and NBC.

At last years Biz Tech Expo, Michael E. Parker had interviewed Julio Melara, CEO of The Business Report on Stellar Enterprise's Online Broadcasting Network called Stellarvision.tv.
Michael was so thoroughly impressed with the Biz Tech Expo and what is had to offer Louisiana that he would like to present a way that CEO's and professionals can use a "stellar" team to reduce their overhead.

How to Boost Your Memory

When you are busy at work it is easy to forget things and as we get older we will remember less and less. Figure Magazine recently published and article "7 Ways to Rev Up Your Memory" and here are a few things that do work form me:

1. Exercise: Brisk walking is enough but I like the gym. 20-30 minutes of cardio on a treadmill or elliptical and 30 minutes of weight training. I do a 3 day rotation: 1 day legs, 1 day arms, 1 day back and check. Abs are everyday. I do 75 crunches on a exercise ball and then I stretch the back as well by doing back bends on the ball. It helping with those love handles too. When I do legs I do 45 squats which are doing wonders...

2. Eat well: A diet high in antioxidants colorful fruits and veggies. I like Pullots ( a very firm tangy plumish thing ), Kiwi's, and Pineapple, sushi and seaweed salad. I also make a Tortilla Soup with added veggies and hominy and drink lots of green tea.

3. Brain Teasers: Play games that require you to think: Scrabble, Uno, Backgammon, Chess and cross word puzzles. You can also do anything that requires you to think and study like learn a new language or play a new instrument.

4. Socialize: Maintaining social connections where you are holding conversations are great for your memory. You have to meet people, remember names and what the do and this exposes you to all types of new information. I socialize at the Gym, Church, Work, Sushi Bars and Chamber of Commerce Mixers. I also socialize via the Internet emailing my friends and blogging.

Well this is 4 of the 7 tell me what you think?

CEO's need to learn new things to keep their brains sharp so look for new things to learn.

Enjoy

Starting a New Business? Ask Yourself These Questions

Questions to Ask Yourself When You Want to Get New Contacts and Business:

Every new business owner has a dream and normally the ability to do a craft such as loans, real estate, art or sales in general. However many do not take the time to plan their new business no consider the financial budgeting of running a business.

I have a friend who wants to start an auto repair garage and all that person is thinking about is that they can repair cars, they earn money from it and they have people who want their cars fixed.

However when you run the math of what they have been earning, what the new expenses will be and how long it may take to become profitable you can see that this person does not have the capital for the first months expenses.

Here are some questions new business owners may want to ask themselves in regards to sales, advertising and marketing.

1. What is My Advertising Plan and Budget? Specifically how much money can I spend each and every month to consistently run ads that will promote the company in the public eye and promote the products and services we offer?

2. What Are My Marketing Goals and Do I Have a Measurement System To Record the Data? Are my goals to brand my company and create an awareness of the company and what we do? Do I also want to create a desire for my product and services in the hearts and minds of people? Do I want to sell a certain number or products and or services which will equal revenue of at least $12,000 per month?

3. Who Will Conduct the Community Development Activities That Will Representing the Company at Events and Conduct Outreach on a Consistent Basis so that there is always a BUZZ about us?

4. What Is The Plan for The Sales Team and Who is Ultimately Responsible for Driving Sales and Revenue to the Company? What are the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals?

Think about these questions and do the math. Plan your war and you will win!

FINGER POINTING IS BAD BUSINESS

Are you quick to point the finger when someone crosses you? Many of us are and we think that we are doing our job and setting people straight. However finger pointing puts people on the defense and is bad business. When someone is caught in a corner their only way out is to charge.

If you burn the bridge you have damaged this relationship and you never know if you may need to cross it later... and it could be your only bridge. A better way to navigate is to open up the lines of communication and tell them what your issue is and see if they have an idea to solve it.

When you don't attack they won't be on the defense. At work a standard review process is an easy way to discuss how an employee is doing. If the conflict is with a vendor normally the service agreement can be reviewed to open up the lines of communication.

Remember a Value Centered Business stays in contact with the customers both internal and external.

So next time you want to let someone have it, slow down, hold the tongue and talk about it first.

Once you have had the right conversations and things still are not working out then you may need to make a decision to end the relationship with a termination or ending the service agreement. There are times that relationships should end but they should always end in a win win situation where the relationship is kept in tack and no one gets the finger pointed.

Tell us what you think and about your issues at work. We want to hear them.

WANT TO PUBLISH YOUR OWN BOOK?

DORRANCE PUBLISHING WANTS TO HELP YOU CALL(412) 288-4543. SELF PUBLISHING basically means that you will pay to publish your own book and sell it on the publishers website. It can cost from a few hundred dollars to several thousands depending on your choices for printing, book cover and so forth.

This is a very old publishing company and they have help many people accomplish their dream of having their work in print. Many entrepreneurs can build creditability when they can add a published book to their resume. Self publishing is also a great way to pass down your family story or other life stories you wish to record as a keepsake.

You can fax over your manuscript of less than 50 pages and they will review it in 21-30 days. There is no cost or obligation. The format should be in some sort of word processing like Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. My Rep's fax number is (415) 388-0427 Attn Kristi Wilcox Author Relations Representative.

Enjoy and happy writing and tell them you heard it from us.

THE BEST HOTEL PLAN FOR CEO's... FREE

CEO's who travel often know that rewards points really count. Free hotel rooms are a great way to save money for your company so pay attention and get ready to write this down and you can earn free nights, discounts and special privileges like EXTENDED LATE CHECK OUTS at the Holiday Inn, Candlewood Suites and Crowne Plaza!

Join for free at priorityclub.com

There are 3 basic programs:

Priority Club Rewards Program: earn 5, 10 or 2000 points for every us 1 dollar charged to your room. Redeem those points toward stays!

Priority Gold Elite: Stay 15 nights to gain Elite status (for me that is just 3 trips of 5 nights each).

Priority Platinum Elite: Complimentary room upgrades, Priority Check In and Extended Late Check Out (50 qualifying nights to gain this status).

You will normally get a 10% discount when you book a room at any level!

The Priority Check In Means: When you have a reservation you will already be automatically checked in and your key waiting... ah what joy!

But you don't have to use your points just for free hotel stays you can use them for flights or retail certificates and you can get points when you spend money with their partners like Hertz Rental Car or Office Max! (but I hate Hertz, go with Thrifty or Dollar - they are much cheaper).

Now you are probably wondering how will I ever earn 10,000 points to start getting free stays right? Easy. When you apply for their credit card Priority Visa you will automatically get a gang of FREE points. Yep. You heard me right. I got a big old credit line and got like 10,000 points from the get go.

Anyway have fun, read the fine print and let me know about other deals.

The Best Ways to Get New Contacts!

The best ways to get new contacts are to use a PR professional who knows how to use the media to get you noticed.

If you are a new company and can not afford this there are still ways you can use the TV, radio and print ads to create your personal publicity campaign. I suggest at least 3 different ads 3 times.

You can do a TV ad, radio ad and a magazine ad all at the same time. You should make sure that the public will be exposed to these messages at least 3 times to get the best response because people need to hear it over and over.

The right message with a call to action will make sure that they respond ready for action. When the public hears and sees your message over and over it builds the brand and creates creditability.

It is up to you what you spend and you don't have to spend a fortune. Many things can be done for free even on radio and TV if you know who to contact, what to do and what to say.

For more personal advise post to this blog because I have many FREE secrets to getting you new contacts.

CEO Tire Safety Tips

Do you drive a lot? Most entrepreneurs do! Here are some great tire tips I got from my mother. She often worries about me traveling and driving all over town.

These tire safety tips can save you money on new tires, give your customers a smooth ride and may even save your life while on the road.

#1 Check tire pressures and adjust at least once a month.
Tires gradually loose pressure through the sidewalls of the tire and changes in
weather can change the pressure as well as carrying extra passengers.

#2 Inspect tires regularly for abnormal wear or damage.
Look for excessive or uneven tread wear, cracks, bulges, nails or glass
embedded in the tire.

#3 Never overload a tire.
This is the second leading cause of tire failure next to under inflation.

#4 Avoid overheating tires.
Heat can be caused by temperature, high speeds, high loads, under inflation,
coarse pavement or aggressive driving: high cornering, hard braking.

#5 Rotate tires every 7,500 miles or according to owner's manual.
This achieves even tread wear and tire longevity.

#6 Maintain tires in proper balance.
If you don't this can cause an uncomfortable ride, uneven tread wear and
excessive wear on the suspension.

#7 Maintain steering and suspension in proper alignment.
If your steering wheel pulls to one side you probably have an alignment issue.

#8 Replace tires when required.
Any portion of the tread is worn to the :wear indicator bars" - lateral bars
molded into the tire grooves at about 20% of their new tread depth.

#9 Install tires in matched pairs or complete sets.
It is imperative that tires be installed in front or rear pairs, or complete
sets. Do not mix different construction (radial and bias ply) or different
classification (all-season and winter) on opposite ends or sides since handling
can be adversely affected. tire dealers are now required to follow these rules.

I thought these tips were great and I have 2 tires I know are worn on the outside edges.

Any suggestions on where to go?

Costco
Vallejo Tires
???

Thanks

What is REAL Happiness?

Self Creation.com (http://www.selfcreation.com/happiness/what_is_happiness.htm)
says, "Happiness and unhappiness are opposite sides of a judgement about your situation. If you judge your situation as bad for you, that's unhappiness. If you judge a situation as good for you, that's happiness".

So if that is true then the reasons that rich celebrities are unhappy is that they judge their situation as bad rather than good. So could we have a weekend retreat and change their states of mind? Will that show them what happiness is?

Abraham Lincoln said “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” So where are the heads of some people who have fame, money and success yet are unhappy? Britney Spears shaved her head and lost her two young son's to a complete wacko in her ex-husband K-Fed. That is disgraceful.

She is judging herself to be unhappy because of their failed relationship but that can not be the only thing in her life that makes her happy... right? And even if someone is unhappy about a failure does this mean that they have to be self destructive and make things worse? Where is the clear head of judgement and reason?

I believe some people are in need of professional help but others simple love, care and friendship would do. The advise, love and comfort of a caring friend is often enough comfort to get through the ruff times...and they come to us all.

Life Happens but we can always look at the bright side. When one door closes another will open and God knows that door should never have been opened for poor Britney.

I do think younger adults may need more guidance, mentoring and some communication structure to deal with the up and downs since they are less mature and experiences with their emotions and how they can influence ones behavior.

In times past guidance came from "their people" (the caring family, friends and community who share life , interacting and supporting them). However there seems to be a shortage of "people" in some of these villages nationwide and many people are looking for love only in a relationship. Sadly some people are lacking the life skills to love, support and nurture each other in a fulfilling manner.

That is the reason why the "You Are a CEO" program and their work with lifeskills 411 is so important to the lives of people in our community. Here people of all ages can learn valuable skills such as "Positive Thinking", "Personal Awareness" and "Positive Relationship".

These courses can help our communities develop these skills and create well balanced friendships. The CEO Executive Clubs are excellent places to meet other members who listen, talk and care while everyone is learning the skills to change their lives successfully.

This online village is a place where people can grow, connect, and practiced their new skills. Sharing your journey with peers on the same road is exciting and satisfying. These relationships create the infrastructure where support begins and this definitely improve ones state of mind and overall happiness.

It takes friends to be happy and happiness IS having people love and care about you when you view that as good for you. The right thinking will create this peace with ones self meaning you first have to like who you are and what you are all about.

Frankly some us us from time to time may need a little bit of help and that's OK when you know there are people out there who care and will help regardless of the situation life has brought you.

My suggestion is take the time time to invest in your self. Make time for family, friends and yourself. Don't let life or your career monopolize your YOU time or your state of mind. Happiness begins with personal development and it is time well worth spending on the Corporation of YOU!

Improving your skill sets will also make your self esteem go way up and make you feel very happy about you. The "You Are a CEO" program and "Executive Club" is committed to developing and influencing the lives of others to create the Happy Villiage Enterprise where community is made strong.

The African proverb says that "It Takes a Village to Raise a Child" but I think that we have adults who need the village too. If we will commit and believe then we can do anything we set our positive minds to.

The You Are a CEO program and Executive Club is a wonderful resource to increase your personal happiness and it is open to anyone: Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton who could all gain perspective on life, find out who they are and work towards becoming the people they really want to be rather than the cover story of a cheesy tabloid.

OK Ladies, open invitation here.

The 13 week online "You Are a CEO" program and "Executive Club" was founded by Author and CEO Michael E. Parker of Stellar Enterprise. After finding success he knew that he had to give back to the community and make things easier for others. The program is available internationally online at www.youareaceo.com

We want your feedback and comments on this story. Please Blog here and forward this to others.

CEO's Are You Traveling Soon?

Busy CEO's often travel for business and pleasure. Here are my personal favorite sites for cheap travel. Check them out and let me know what works and what needs improvement.

1. www.cheaptickets.com
2. www.orbitz.com
3. www.sidestep.com

Another travel tip for busy executives is of course the rewards programs for most airlines where you can acquire free tickets when you travel often. Southwest has a great rewards program www.southwest.com and I definitely recommend them for cheap tickets to most destinations.

Orbitz has a lot of great deals and regular email promotions such as the "Top Flight Deals", "Top Vacation Deals" and Special Hotel Property Offers.

I find most of my flights using cheap tickets traveling Tuesday to Tuesday and often choosing one way flights which can often be less expensive then round trip tickets.

I travel often to Albuquerque, New Mexico and recently stayed at the New Holiday Inn. The room was great, with lots of amenities and was close to my favorite restaurant Papadeaux's. The standard rooms run around $99 but with AAA you can normally get it down to $89 per night.

New Mexico is a Spa Diva's Paradise with tons of Spa's, clean air, good food and unique shopping. New Mexico is great when you are looking for cool comfortable clothing with that Western flare. My favorite spot for shoes is called "Shoes on a String" by the Cottonwood Mall off Coors Blvd. There is also a unique stand inside the mall that sells Brightly Colored Purses that are designed to look like a western saddle. They are pink, aqua and brown with diamond studs and ornate designs.

Anyway, enjoy your travels and be sure to post me a note of where you go and what deals you find.

CEO's value a good tip and also know how to pass a good word along!

What is a CEO?

A CEO is a Chief Executive Officer who executes orders for the company. At Stellar Enterprise we believe that a CEO must also be a Chief Excellence Officer who sets a standard for his or her employees by practicing excellence in their life habits.

What are some of the areas of focus for a CEO that can ensure success?

Here are some tips:

1. Have the Pulse of Your Organization.

As a CEO are you aware of what is going on at your company in every department?
Go look, go see, go do... This means do site inspections. View the work place and observe what is going on in the workplace. You want to observe the workers, the flow of products and or services and to state of the customer. Stay in contact with your team members, vendors and customers so you can have the pulse of your organization at all times.

2. Knowing the State of Your Cash.

A CEO must know the state of the company's bank account. This means how much cash is in the bank account(s). Budgeting and managing the company financial affairs is very critical. There will be times when the income slows down or even halts due to some crisis and the company must have cash reserves and credit to cover the operating budget for several months.

3. Be Willing to Change.

A CEO must be willing to change what is not working and implement ideas that will. Continual change for the better is an absolute must for a CEO. Staff may change, positions may change, duties, products and services must all be flexible. The one constant is a commitment to the customer and *Value Centered Management.

What else do you think will help a CEO ensure success?

We want to hear from you.

*Value Centered Management is the business philosophy created by the CEO and Founder of Stellar Enterprise, Michael E. Parker based on his forthcoming book titled "Who Said So" by Wiley Publishing. You can order this book at Amazon.com.
